Short Bio:

Dr. Ioannis D. Moscholios was born in Athens, Greece, in 1976. He received the Dipl.-Eng. degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Patras, Greece, in 1999, the M.Sc. degree in Spacecraft Technology & Satellite Communications from the University College London (UCL), London, UK, in 2000 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2005. From 2005 to 2009 he was a Research Associate at the Wire Communications Laboratory, Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece. During the same period he was in the Core Network Planning Group of Vodafone Greece. From 2009 to 2013, he was a Lecturer in the Department of Telecommunications Science and Technology, University of Peloponnese, Greece. From 2013 to 2018, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications, University of Peloponnese, Greece. From 2018 to 2023, he was an Associate Professor in the same department. Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications, University of Peloponnese, Greece.

His research interests include Teletraffic Engineering in Next Generation Networks (5G, 6G) and in Information Centric Networks, Network Management in Telecommunication Networks, Performance Evaluation and Optimization of Telecommunication Networks, Performance Analysis of Network Protocols, Network simulation and Network Security. He has published more than 225 papers in international journals and conferences. He is the co-author of the book “Efficient Multirate Teletraffic Loss Models Beyond Erlang” (John Wiley & IEEE Press, 2019). He has served as a Guest Editor in: a) ΙΕΤ Communications, b) IET Networks, c) AEU Int. Journal of Electronics and Communications, d) Mobile Information Systems, e) Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing, f) Applied Sciences and g) Image Processing and Communications. He has also served as an Associate Editor in IEICE Transactions on Communications. He is a TPC member in IEEE ICC and IEEE Globecom. He is an IARIA Fellow and a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE).

  5. Discrete Systems Simulation Techniques (postgraduate course in the “MSc in Computer Science” organized by the Dept. Informatics & Telecommunications).
